Website Accessibility

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the broadest possible audience, regardless of ability.

To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1). These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.

We do not integrate with third party apps which can render a site less accessible. Instead, we provide a clean data structure so that any tool you might choose can effortlessly reshape your user interface (UI). Below are the guidelines we adhere to:

  • Maintain a Strict Heading Hierarchy: Use only one <h1> for the main title, followed by <h2> for major sections, and <h3> for subsections. Screen readers allow users to generate a "table of contents" from these tags to skip straight to the info they want.

  • Provide Meaningful Alt Text: For every image carrying meaning, write a concise description of what is in the image. If the image is purely decorative (like a background flourish), give it an empty alt attribute (alt="") so the screen reader knows to silently skip it.

  • Ensure Keyboard Navigability: Put your mouse away and try to navigate your entire site using only the Tab key (to move forward), Shift + Tab (to move backward), and Enter (to click). Can you see exactly where you are on the screen? Can you access every menu option?

  • Use High-Contrast Text: Ensure your font colors stand out vividly against your backgrounds. Light gray text on a white background, for instance, makes reading incredibly difficult for low-vision users.

Notes, comments, and feedback

Despite our best efforts, there may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Our intent is to maintain optimal accessibility as we learn more about how to do so. If you wish to contact the website’s owner, please use the following email helpers@opusonefm.com.
